Bereavement Therapy

Grief and Bereavement Support.

Grief often brings a mixture of emotions, including sadness, anger, confusion, and sometimes guilt.  These feelings can fluctuate and may be intense.

Individuals may have difficulty concentrating, experience memory lapses, or find it hard to make decisions.

Grief impacts relationships, as individuals might withdraw from others or struggle to communicate needs and feelings, which may cause them to lack connection and isolation.

Frequently Asked Questions

The number of sessions varies significantly from person to person.  It depends on several factors, including the individual’s specific needs and goals, the type of therapy, current mental health, relationships, and progress made during sessions.  This is why grieving is complex and different for everyone.

Under profound sadness or complex emotion or shock, mental health will be impacted by grief; it may be with depression or anxiety and sometimes both.  Talking to a professional will be beneficial.

Counselling can still be beneficial, even if it is for a long time ago; It’s not uncommon for individuals to continue to grapple with grief long after their loss.

You can seek therapy immediately after the loss of a loved one.  Many people find it incredibly helpful to begin treatment as soon as possible to navigate the complex emotions and challenges that arise during this difficult time.  Grief therapy or counselling is specifically designed to provide support, guidance, and a safe space to process your feelings and grief-related experiences.

Important: Mental Health Diagnoses. Talking Counselling does not provide mental health diagnoses. If you require a mental health diagnosis, we recommend consulting your doctor.
